Duality in balance

Masisa® Melamine Boards: contrast as a meeting point in design

CASACOR 2024, the most important architecture, design, art and landscape architecture exhibition in the Americas, had as its motto "Now is a gift". In this context, Singular Loft was presented, a project by FW Arquitectos - made up of Karen Lazarte and Eduardo Cabezas - at the Escuela Climática de Varones del Puericultorio Augusto Pérez Araníbar, in Lima, Peru. The space is inspired by the coexistence of two friends with different personalities: a fashion designer and a lawyer. Rather than highlighting their differences, the project seeks to unite them through design, creating a common environment where contrasts are balanced. Each material and chromatic choice responds to this fusion, giving shape to a place designed to share, connect and live in harmony.

To materialize this duality, Pacific melamine design was chosen for the kitchen furniture, conceived as the core of the space. Its unicolor tone allows to visually balance the more intense elements in shades and texture, providing calm and cohesion without losing prominence. This subtle contrast becomes essential to reflect the harmonious coexistence of two distinct identities in a shared environment, which opts for integration rather than division.

The choice of the Pacific design allowed for a clear aesthetic and the creation of durable, easy-to-maintain surfaces with a contemporary finish. Its high-performance technology makes it ideal for demanding spaces like the kitchen: it is stain-resistant, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial—with over 99% effectiveness—as well as scratch-resistant, with a precise cut, responsible production, and a finish that guarantees durability without compromising the design or the harmony of the environment.
