Masisa® Melamine Boards: designs that connect with the essential
CASACOR 2024, the most important exhibition of architecture, design, art and landscaping in the Americas, had as its motto "Now is a gift". Under this premise was presented The Haven, a space by interior designer Carlos Maza, located in the Escuela Climática de Varones del Puericultorio Augusto Pérez Araníbar, in Lima, Peru. Inspired by a traveler returning to his country, this environment represents a home where he reconnects with his roots, feels protected and reconnects with the essential. Warm and functional, the space reflects a host who enjoys cooking, sharing with family and friends, and values the open kitchen as a nucleus of encounter and connection.
From this inspiration, we sought to ensure that each material choice contributed to the construction of a warm, functional and coherent space. In the kitchen, Black Soft and Valley melamine tabletops were integrated to create a harmonious contrast between depth and warmth. Black Soft adds sobriety and sophistication, while Valley, with its woody tone and natural texture, adds closeness and balance, shaping a functional environment with character. In the living room, the Acacia Sand design envelops the environment with its light color and soft grain, generating a luminous, serene and welcoming atmosphere that accentuates the sense of refuge that defines the project.
The choice of these boards allowed for a uniform aesthetic and the delivery of durable, resistant, and easy-to-maintain surfaces. They also boast high-performance technical attributes: they are stain-resistant, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial (with over 99% effectiveness), scratch-resistant, precise cutting, responsibly produced, and a finish that adds both functional and visual value.
