Rhythm, design and functionality
Masisa Melamine Cladding and Boards®: designs that enhance the musical experience
CASACOR 2024, the most important exhibition of architecture, design, art and landscaping in the Americas, had as its motto "Now is a gift". In this context, the Music Room was presented, a space developed by architect Andrea RuizCaro in the Boys' Climatic School of the Augusto Pérez Araníbar Childcare Center, in Lima, Peru. Inspired by jazz and iconic figures such as Frank Sinatra, the environment was conceived so that the music transforms those who inhabit it: transporting them to a meaningful moment, awakening sensations through textures, colors and an enveloping atmosphere. More than a room, it is a sensory experience that pays homage to the power of sound and aesthetics.
In the main hall, the Acoustic Panels Wavy Sahara Slats became a key element to achieve an immersive sound experience, integrating design and functionality. This was complemented by the Sahara and Black Soft melamine designs used in the furniture, whose patterns and volumes evoke the rhythm of the music and reinforce the aesthetics of the space. In the private area, more intimate and secluded, the Magma design was applied, whose chromatic depth provides an introspective character, completing the narrative of an environment designed to listen, create and feel.
The selection of these products allowed for a seamless aesthetic and the creation of durable, easy-to-maintain, and high-performance surfaces. Sahara, Black Soft, and Magma melamines stand out for their stain-resistant, antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial properties—with over 99% effectiveness—as well as offering scratch-resistant properties, precise cutting, responsible production, and a durable finish that meets both the functional requirements and the visual language of the project. Acoustic Panels Wavy Sahara Slats, meanwhile, is designed to optimize the absorption, diffusion, and reflection of sound waves, providing an efficient solution for environments dedicated to music production and listening.
