The new auditorium at Universidad Andrés Bello (UNAB), Echaurren Campus, in Santiago, Chile, incorporates Masisa acoustic coverings as part of a project designed to enhance the user experience through a comfortable, acoustically controlled environment. In a building certified under the Sustainable Building Certification (CES), the selection of appropriate materials is essential, as they must align with principles of efficiency and interior well-being.

For this space, Wavy Slats – Bonfire Acoustic Covering and Bonfire Plain Coverings, manufactured in melamine MDF, were used. Their dark tone adds depth and a contemporary character, complementing the soft lighting and the auditorium’s understated design. These coverings not only bring visual warmth but also ensure clear, controlled sound, free from echo—an essential quality for classes, presentations, and academic activities.

Masisa’s acoustic coverings are designed to meet the requirements for sound absorption and control in interior spaces. The modular design of the Wavy Slats coverings allows for precise, clean installation, while the Bonfire Plain coverings provide visual continuity and order, reinforcing the project’s overall aesthetic.
